Cupcake Wars: GF Version

A couple of weeks ago, we transformed our kitchen into Cupcake Wars. For those of you who are not familiar with the show, it airs on Food Network. Four chefs come together to vie for a $10,000 prize and the chance to have their cupcakes presented at a large event. We love the show because, well, we love cupcakes (gluten-free cupcakes, that is)!

We divided into to two teams of two.
Team 1:
*devil's food cupcakes with almond butter cream cheese frosting, decorated with purple fondant flowers and green fondant leaves, sprinkled with chocolate shavings
*strawberry cupcake with lemon cream cheese frosting, decorated with an upside-down strawberry stuffed with lemon-flavored fondant and sugared lemon peel
*vanilla bean cupcake with cinnamon/pumpkin spice whipped cream, sprinkled with chunked candy bits

Team 2:

*chocolate cupcake stuffed with lemon custard, decorated with black and white fondant, blue and orange candy dots
*lemon cupcake with poprocks, lemon frosting, and decorated with Easter candy
*chocolate cupcake with green cream cheese frosting, decorated with carob chunks, gold dots, and edible gold dust.
